| my passions: light, colour, space, form - my inspirations are the world in which i live. light is crucial to my work, the brilliance of light here and in spain where i lived before suits the way i see things. the richness of colour in the corbières particularly: terra cotta earth against brilliant green of vine, black sentinels of cypresses, rose pink rocks are all stimulations. when i make a drawing of the landscape here i feel i am creating a sculpture. the qualities; the contours of the landscape are exaggerated by the stripes of the vines, criss-crossing dots in winter. |  | |

passions for landscape and architecture. i like repeating images - to set up rhythms. i like to create tensions through repetition - whether through the arches of cordoba or the roaming sheep of corbières. i like to create space by using extreme perspectives. i'm also interested in playing games in my work. my abstract pieces are about illusion and i use perspective to make the viewer query what they are looking at. | ||
